Spreading Joy Through Giving: PPB Properties’ Christmas & New Year Toybank

At PPB Properties, community has always been at the heart of what we do. This festive season, we were proud to bring our annual Christmas & New Year Toybank initiative to a meaningful close, sharing joy and human connection with underprivileged children and individuals with special needs.

In December 2025, the Toybank campaign collected 706 gifts, which were distributed to six charity homes across the Klang Valley and Penang. Each gift reflected the generosity of our shoppers, tenants and staff, who came together to brighten the festive season for those in need.

PPB Properties extends its sincere appreciation to every member of the public who contributed a gift. These contributions made this year’s Toybank possible and reinforced the value of collective action in creating meaningful social impact.

Bringing Gifts, Sharing Time

For the first time since the pandemic, the PPB Properties team organised home visits to personally deliver gifts and spend time with care recipients, in addition to coordinating donations and providing meals for residents.

The first visit took place on 9 January 2026 at the Malaysian Association for the Welfare of Mentally Challenged Children (IQ70+) in Petaling Jaya, home to 68 individuals with special needs. During the visit, staff distributed 204 gifts and assisted residents during a shared lunch, providing additional support to those with physical challenges.

The visit was complemented by interactive activities, including a magic show and games, creating a warm and engaging experience for residents and staff alike.

The second visit followed on 16 January 2026 at the Eden Handicap Service Centre in George Town, Penang, which is home to more than 60 residents with special needs. During the visit, 130 gifts were distributed, meals were served, and residents participated in similar interactive activities, continuing the spirit of care and connection that defines the Toybank initiative.

The PPB Properties team spent a meaningful afternoon with 65 residents of Eden Handicap Service Centre in Penang.

An interactive magic show was organised for the residents of both homes.

A Tradition That Began in 2002

First introduced in 2002 at Cheras LeisureMall, the Christmas Toybank began as a simple toy drive. Over the years, it has evolved into a signature annual CSR initiative of PPB Properties, extending across the Klang Valley and Penang through our retail assets.

Members of the public were invited to participate by selecting wishlist cards displayed on Christmas trees across our four retail spaces and placing their wrapped gifts at designated collection points before 31 December. All gifts received were carefully sorted and distributed to the appropriate charity homes to ensure they reached their intended recipients.

Gifts were carefully sorted according to the recipient names.

Creating Impact Together

The Christmas & New Year Toybank reflects the collective commitment of PPB Properties, our retail partners and the public to giving back in meaningful ways. In 2025, the initiative supported over 200 beneficiaries, with 444 gifts collected from Cheras LeisureMall and channelled to three charity homes across the Klang Valley.

With the continued support of our communities, PPB Properties remains committed to carrying this initiative forward, reinforcing our belief that lasting impact is built through consistent, people-centred engagement and shared responsibility.
