The fundamental principle of sustainable development is to create developments that foster enduring prosperity for communities while protecting the planet for future generations. Guided by the overarching sustainability objectives of PPB Group Berhad, a defined roadmap has been established for the property division. This roadmap is the Sustainability Vision 2030. This forward-thinking vision outlines core priorities in environmental, social and governance areas. It is an integral part of the Group’s aspiration towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, in full alignment with Malaysia’s national climate goals.
Reduce carbon emissions by improving energy efficiency, adopting renewable energy sources, and conserving resources.

The property division uses the Building Energy Index (BEI) to track and compare the energy consumption across its properties. The BEI for PPB’s property sites varies significantly, reflecting differences in energy efficiency across different asset categories – malls and office buildings.
The three shopping malls, Megah Rise Mall, Cheras LeisureMall, and New World Park have the highest recorded BEI values. Moving forward, the BEI target for shopping malls is set at 300kWh/m2/year, with the remaining three sites to be aligned with a 3-star rating according to the Energy Commission’s Guidelines.
